So Much Going On!

Man where do I start???

Can you believe 25% of the year is gone? So I look back at my New Year Goals and see how I am doing. Not bad if I say so myself. I have complete 5 UFO's, I want 15 by the end of the year. We have been cooking 3-4 nights a week, goal was 3 nights. There is now a 3 foot wide path from the laundry room to the man door and to the big garage door, maybe it will be cleaner by the end of the year. I don't see me parking in their though. I cleaned out the cupboard under the microwave, hasn't been touched since we moved in! I got rid of 75% of the junk we never used and organized the stuff I was keeping! I have been posting tons more pictures this year, even sometimes twice a week. For Easter I scrap booked for my nieces, now something for Poop. I am doing good!

We should all try to help others, so click on this link test your vocabulary and donate some rice!

I have started an additional blog. That's right I will now have 2 blogs. The second one is called Scrap & Stash Elimination Project, the link is to the left as S.S.E.P. It is dedicated to projects that are made from 75% or more of my scraps and 25% stuff from my stash. This is just excess stuff I have on hand.I have too much and need to start using it up! I will be updating this blog two times a month, the first and fifteenth of each month. It will have completed projects, ideas to help you eliminate your stuff, and much more. It will be Sewing and Paper Crafting stuff. Also if you would like to be a guest Blogger let me know.

As you know my quilt store, R. Lily Stem, closed last month. I usually do the mystery quilt their each year. This year I am able to do a mystery quilt but with Cabin Quilters in Oakdale. It is a fun shop located right on Hwy 120 in a log cabin. Stop in, look around and say hi to Marie. You'll be glad you did!

MM "KIds Speak"

Okay this weeks late topic is Kids say the darnedest things. Great mines not really talking.

Right now the one we have been stuck on is "P U Daddy P U." Now depending on who she is talking to the P U can change. The good thing is she knows when she is P U. The bad thing is, while out shopping, I asked "Delaney P U?" She said "No, Caca mom mom caca." First it wasn't that cute, second yes I am 2 mom's.

She also has a few phrases that she uses. Some of them are "Dude, Cool, Groovy,OH No!, Allll Riiight, and Whoa Dude." We are working on more but since she turned 2 three weeks ago we are doing good.

Heather, This is for YOU!

The trick of it is, match an item in this picture to an item in a column to the left and it will go to your home. Good Luck!

Good News!

So as you know we have been working on ways to better insulate the house and become more energy efficient. We have insulated the all the exterior walls and put in dual pain windows. We have installed 2 heater ceiling fans, Scott's living room and our bedroom. Scott has insulated about half of the flooring. And we have been trying to remember (Scott) to turn off lights. We our work has paid off. We got the new PG&E bill, it has gone from $390 to $170!!! We can now afford to by Kraft Mac & Cheese instead of just Top Ramen. LOL

For those of you in other parts of the country PG&E stands for Pacific Gas and Electric, they are our only choice to supply energy to our home.

Gina, since I missed you last night, you should have some spare change in your mail on Monday or Tuesday. I am glad to see you are getting out to visit and share with us. I miss you.

H, the count down is on. Come back around 3pm. I should have something for you then.

Ang, when are you coming through? I work better under pressure. Wednesday?

Something for Everyone

Good Morning Sandy! It must be about 7:05am and you should be at your desk. Glad you are starting your day with us.

Pa, you should be proud. While driving home from mom's Wednesday night, Delaney was NOT in the car, some idiot in a Honda tried to beat me off the line. I WON! You were afraid I was getting to old to drive fast. I may have gone from a sports car to a mom car but I can still DRIVE.

H, I NEED HELP!!! I want to video Poop singing, I can have Scott help with that part, I need your help doing a You Tube thing and getting it on my blog. Also H, stay tuned Thursday and Friday I will be posting something for you SPECIAL.

Mum Whimsy, Can you pee on a tree Thursday 5-ish?

Nathan, how did your kids do coming back form Spring Break? Have you recovered yet? I can't wait for you to be here in 2 weeks. I know I will only see you for a minute.

Aunt Steph, crystals have been ordered and should be here by Monday. The ribbon has already arrived. I am hoping to have them done when you come through next week.

For those of you who didn't know last Saturday, the 15th, was National Quilting day. No Hallmark doesn't make a card for this. I did get some time to sew. I made 5 blocks for a UFO and then decided that I wanted some mindless sewing. I pieced the center and set all but the last row this weekend. Today I finished it. I know I said I didn't want to add anymore projects BUT this one was 80% from my scraps! The red and orange I cut fro yardage and the black and white stripe was left overs from another project, 1/2 yard which was just enough for the borders. I didn't know when I started it who it would be for. Saturday night I check the Paper Crafts Message Board and a lady I swap with just found out that she is going to be a first time Grandma! So when it is finished next week it will be headed to Patty in Tacoma.

Mama Monday!!!

Okay first and foremost HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY! I am just getting home from family dinner at Linda's house. Everyone but Josh had the traditional Corn Beef and Cabbage. I left before the cutting of the chocolate POTATO cake. I am sure they all are enjoying it. Did you wear green today?

On to Mama Monday's. This is a buddy post which my friend Heather dared me to do. It is a sharing of parenting stories. The topic is READING.

I can say that I don't think we are as good at this as Heather is. BUT Delaney does like to "read" (look at) quilting or scrap booking magazines. Every night she watches her Night Time Sprout in our bed and I read something. I always have a magazine on hand for her. We also read the board book stories to her. Her doctor give us a new one every time go in for a check up. In the last few months she has been going into her room to sit and read to herself.

My Aunt Cloie always encouraged us to read, anything comics to hysterical romance, as long as we read. I am guessing since she isn't here any longer that we need to pass on the gift. Tonight I will bust out the Suess. I am feeling like My Many Colored Days, my favorite along with Oh The Places You'll Go.

Happy St. Patty's Day Aunt Cloie! We had a beer for you.

Two In One Day!!!

I am shocked at myself. I got 2 UFO's done in ONE day. I finished Laney's PJ's that I started last September and I finished her new Big Girl Bed Duvet Cover. The PJ's needed button holes and buttons, I was worried they might not fit. The Duvet needed a lot more. She loved the new Duvet. When I put it on her bed to show her she said "OH WOW!" She climbed right in. After her showie she put on her new jammies and went right into her Big Girl Bed. This is only the second time this week that we have not had to fight her to go to bed in it.

Crafty A$$ Weekend

I have been busy putting the finishing touches on stuff this weekend. First, Friday I finished an UFO. Very Exciting for me! I finished my MEME doll. She is the second doll in a pair of dolls I was making from a Sally Lampi class I took 4-5 years ago.

I also have a few swaps that I have finished. I made a few scrapbook pages for them. The first is for a Circle Journal I am doing and the them is Recipes. I shared 6 slow cooker recipes and My Brownie recipe. The recipe cards slide into the red pocket and the brownie recipe goes into the file folder.

I have also worked on 3 set of 8x8 Layouts for another swap. I won this stamp set last summer from Paper Crafts Magazine's Blog, it is Happy Camper from Stampin' Up. I had a lot of fun creating these. I hope she likes them!

Now I have started enhancing a pair of Chuck's (All Stars or Converse). You can bet Chuck Taylor never thought of this one! As soon as I have Poop's done I will post a picture.

Speaking of Poop where is she?

It's Poop in a Box. This is actually the bamboo trunk in MY living room. I use it as a table and store my quilts in it. Poop has cleared everything off the top and uses it to hide in. She will ask us to shut the top on her.

GOOD News!!!

I got some good news yesterday afternoon. My friends Dave and Liz, Texas Anderson's, have been approved to adopt kids! They have been going through the process for about 2 years now. The call came yesterday that they have been APPROVED!!! I am so excited for them. They still have a little way to go before kids will be in their home BUT they are so close. They would like to adopt an older sibling set from the Dallas area, where they live. Now they search for kids that would be a good fit in their home. Pray that it is a quick search.
