One Week To Go

Can you believe it!?! Delaney will be one on Thursday! I can't believe a year has gone by already. We are preparing for her party. I have rented a bounce house and made most of the goodie bags. I still need to order the cake, get soda and balloons. We also bought an inflatable sky ball game, $7 at Target, we will see if it works. I am hoping to have her hair cut on Tuesday and pictures taken on Wednesday.

As for Delaney she is walking lots this week. She still get lazy and crawls but walking more and more everyday. She get to have shots on Thursday, so we're hoping she'll be okay for her party. She shares well with Jackson and is even learning to feed him treats.

Jack is doing good. He is up to 120 lbs. It has been two years since his accident and for the most part he is normal happy puppy. Yeah, he's still a puppy. He should stop growing at 4 years old, he's 2 now.

Scott is working back in Sunnyvale. He leaves the house around 4am and gets home around 5pm. His company did ask if he would be interested in running work somewhere south of Reno. We are hoping someone else gets to go. They would be living their and could come home on weekends. I already have lived in Reno and don't plan on moving back.

As for me, I have decided not to go fabric or craft shopping this month. With exception of the money I have but aside for the quilt show and scrapbook expo, $75 for each. I want to get 10 projects done and gone this month, without buying anything. I think I can do it. Which means the people I owe baby quilts, you should get them soon! Everyone else you will get to see the pictures.

E.R. Trip

Our week has been full. We started our busy week at 1:59am waking up to Delaney and a terrible cough. I had to call the advice nurse and she said it was "the Croup, get her into a hot shower for 20 minutes and I'll call you back." The nurse called us back and listened to Poop, she said "It is now turning into Streeters. Are her lips or nails turning blue?" They weren't. So we rushed off to St. Joe's. We got to be their for almost 5 hours. The bad news was the croup came on to fast. The good news was the got her to the hospital soon enough that she did not need breathing treatments and a 2 day stay at the hospital. She is doing wonderful now.

My week has been full as usual. I went to stamp club and made a really cute wallet picture holder, I am thinking of using it as Poop's birthday thank you cards. I also figured out how to print Poop's birthday invitations. This is a big deal, my friends Nathan and Tony usually do that kind of thing for me but they moved to Texas. I thought about shipping the invitations and asking them to do them still. I also got to go on a quilt retreat to Monterey with my mom and some friends. I had a wonderful time. I finished a quilt for me, a baby blanket for Rhonda, a baby blanket to donate and I worked on a "ART" quilt that I am entering in a contest. It has to be done by Thursday, this week. Wish me luck!

Poop stayed home to babysit Scott and Jack. I really don't know who was in charge. Poop is walking a little more this week, she still prefers to crawl though. Scott has been working on finishing the window replacement. He started yesterday to case out the windows (but sills in).

We are loving Dinner My Way. We eat at home more than ever. I am looking at going back soon. The food is great for all of us. Poop loves it too.

I promise next week to have tons of pictures of what we are doing now.

Public Servic Annoucment

PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Always put children in the proper carseat and/or seatbelt. No matter how short a drive it is, everyone needs buckled up! Saturday we were driving to Turlock and ended up helping with an accident. We were around downtown Modesto on the freeway, in the pouring rain and traffic was slowing. A girl driving a Geo Storm had been cut off and lost control of her car and started spinning in the middle of traffic. A semi-truck had been slowing down but ended up hitting her car and the truck started to jackknife. Needless to say the Geo did not come out well. There was a little boy in the Geo and NO CARSEAT! we don't know if he was buckled in. David was between 2 and 3 years old. He had 2 extremly bad cuts on his forehead. One was across his forehead and the other went from his hairline down his nose and under his left eye. The Mom was in better condition, no major cuts because she had an airbag, but still not good. Scott and I helped hold David still, which took 4 adults, and stop the bleeding. The only stuffed animal I had with us was a little bird, so I tucked it in his hand as they finish strapping him down on the stretcher. We hope they are okay.

As for the rest of our week. I did make 6 quilt tops for my quilt guild philanthropy and a cute outfit for Poop. I still need to make the her a hair accessory. I also picked up my quilt from the quilter that I made New Year's day.

I have also joined an online scrapbooking book club. We read books (fiction) that are some way related to scrapbooking. We then scrap 15 4x6 notecards with our opinion on the book. Those we mail to the hostess, she swaps them out and we will get one of everyone's cards back. We'll see how it goes. I finished the first book, a mystery and the main character owns a scrapbook store. Now to scrap my review.

Me and Poop spent most of this week looking for her first birthday dress. We have learned this is a hard thing to do. The Willow Tree in Lodi was a victim of a fire in early December and wont be open until late March. Bambini's in Lincoln Center closed this last summer. Sugar 'n Spice really didn't have anything, not even Easter dresses but some Christmas clearance. I did learn that Avec Amour moved and did not close, they are now on the Mile across from the old Bull and Bear. Tammy's in Manteca goes up to a size 9 month and has a wonderful slection of upper end baby furniture. If you need a $600 stroller they have a few to choose from. The Ragamuffin in Modesto had the BEST selection of Boutique kids/baby clothes and the best prices. Scott but her a ROXY sweat outfit and I got her a capri and tank outfit for her birthday.

Poop decided this would be a good week to push Mama's limits. On Tuesday instead of taking a nap she took off her clothes, untied part of her bumper pad and pulled it down, then took off her diaper and peed on everthing, blankets, bumper pad, clothes, herself and all.

Scott this week spend an afternoon with his nieces and Poop. And on another night helped Josh install the lower cabinets in their house. A few more need to be built and then they can start the tile.

I get to go on a Quilt Retreat to Monterey this weekend and will have time to get a lot of projects done. Poop gets to watch her Dad and Jackson.

Super Bowl Sunday!

I was disappointed by the half time show. Like Prince doesn't have enough of his own hits he had to sing someone elses songs!?! Come on now. Half time and the last quarter is all I watched. Linda's team won.

Speaking of teams, Brian made a bet with Josh last night about their teams (baseball) winning division title. Last I heard on the bet is IF either team (Boston or Yankees) win division title the loosing couple has to wear the winning teams shirt and hat also the loosing couple has to pay for the winning couples tickets to the Glenwood crab feed in Feb of 2008. I said I would add it to this week's blog so we have a good record of it.

Delaney has had a big week. She has taken a few steps on her own. She's really not that interested though. She has also gotten her first fat lip. She was crawling in the kitchen and her arms couldn't hold her up anymore. SPLAT! went her face on the tile. Her teeth are fine, swelling is down but she still has some bruising on she lip. She likes playing with the magnets on the frig, so we may need to find her the Alphbet ones for her birthday. Also she is drinking out of a sippy cup finally!

As for me this week, not much has happened. I did cook 4 times this week, THANKS Dinner My Way. The food is wonderful. Scott is even eating the left overs. I would highly recommend everyone who eats dinner to try it out. I will be going back, actually I already have. They let you shop out of the freezer for last months leftovers. I do have a wall quilt to get done in the next few weeks for my quilt guild and some baby quilts for gifts.

Scott's last day in Sacramento will be tomorrow. He will be moving the last load of stuff to another job. After that he will bounce for job to job until they get another one for him to run.
