I decided I don't like this weekend's list of stuff to do. I don't feel like doing any of it! I know some of it I have to do. I think I am going to work up a new list. Yes I know it is Saturday night and the weekend is half over. But a new list is needed.

Things In My World!

I will start at the top of the list and work my way down.

First I am 5 1/2 months pregnant and it is a girl. Scott and I were waiting to tell people until he came home in June but that right was taken away from us recently. I was taken off work this week for the next two weeks because I am having some issues with dehydration. So I am resting and drinking a gallon to 2 gallons of water a day.

As I can I am working on packing up my sewing studio. I am hoping to have it at least half way emptied by the time Scott gets home in 4 weeks. There is tons of little stuff I can do in their. Which also means I will be getting a table at the Manteca Guild White Elephant Sale in August. Some stuff will also be going onto Etsy.

This weekend has a list of stuff to do. I always make a list of 10 items, if they all get done I then add items on. So here is this weekends list:

1. Finish up this weeks 9-patches
2. Finish and mail American Ann
3. Finish and mail Bee Inspired blocks
4. Make Pink Stocking
5. Photograph and post 8 items onto Etsy
6. Make Tutorial for disappearing 9-Patch
7. Finish filling Scott's box to be mailed next week
8. Clean Up 30 things in Sewing Studio
9. Finish 2 place mats
10. Clean 1 shelf of cookbooks

Let's see what gets done!

Tattered Stars & Stripes Pillow

This is the pillow that Sew Rosey won. The quilt is one I have made for Scott, years ago.
I really wish I had made more than one of these pillows. I really like the way it came out.

And The Winner Is...

Sew Rosey!!!

I did use Random.org to generate a number, the number 3 was picked. I will try to post a photo of the lovely Tattered Stars and Stripes pillow Sew Rosey won. I will also deliver her pillow on Thursday night to her.

It sounds as if most of you got much done this weekend. I only had 2 things left on my list today, the card and the Bee Inspired blocks. Not bad since I did get many other things done.

Memorial Day

Today is more than the first 3 day weekend of summer, last holiday before school is out, or a day of double time. Today is the day to remember those that have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Please take a moment to remember them.

Happy Birthday Scott!

Happy Birthday Scott! Someone broke into your car last night! I am SO not kidding.

Today is Scott's 34th birthday! He will be celebrating in 112 degree heat at Camp Liberty Iraq, yea the one with the shooting last week. We will be having cupcakes from Raley's and Scott's favorite Taco Casserole. Thanks to our many family and friends he has received more than a dozen birthday cards, more are still coming, and a few packages.

Scott has been doing a lot of repair work mostly since he has been in Iraq. He will be up for his first leave at the end of June and will be headed home for 10 days. Once he is home he will still be doing a lot of repair work, mixed in with the annual Andy's 4th of July party and a Giants game before going back to Iraq.

Now onto the HHR, I have been parking it on the street in front of our house so it wouldn't be hidden in the driveway by the Suburban. This morning I came out of the house and both passenger side doors were wide open and all doors were unlocked. From what I can tell nothing is missing and no damage was done. Tonight my parents are picking it up and taking it to their house until I need it. I will then go swap my truck for Scott's car. I guess we know why Stockton ranked number 5 in the nation for crime.

Last but not least Happy Birthday to Kymn! I hope you are having an enjoyable day and preparing for a wonderful weekend in Vegas!

For Liz

Many of you know my friend Liz Faria past away last December. She worked for the California Dairy Campaign, loved cows and lived on a dairy. This is for her. I am sure she would be proud.

Today we were shopping at Target, yeah I know again! I decided I might not get the grocery shopping done today so I would pick up a few things their. One of the things I needed was a half gallon of milk, mine expires today. So I reach into the dairy case to grab a half gallon of Vitamin D Whole Milk. My ever so helpful 3 year old Delaney says "Mom, We need the California kind. Mom, not the other kind the California kind." For those of you who don't buy milk at Target they have 2 brands the Target brand or Producers. Thank GOD Producers is Real California Milk. Delaney was still insistent that we get the California kind after I grabbed the Producers milk. I had to stop and show her the "Real California Milk" seal on the label with the cow on it.

Thank the lord for talking cows! Wonder how much they make per a commercial?

*For those of you who don't live in California, for a few years the Dairy Council have had an Ad Campaign that feature 2 cow that talk.

Done With Vacation!

This has been the most odd vacation I have ever taken. I didn't get as much done as I wanted too either.

Wednesday was spent running around town getting things done. Which included ordering a new cell phone since the screen completely broke on mine. If you were the person who sent me a text this last weekend, I can't read it. Also if you are waiting for me to call you, your number is trapped in the phone. Also Nikki came over to help me around the house. Somehow it took 2 hours to get Scott's ring cleaned, dinner at Elephant Bar and drop off a set of keys.

Thursday we were to leave on vacation at noon, we left by 2pm. I can't even remember all of the hold ups. I do know that I had the second load of laundry in by 8:30am and we were out the door. Delaney wanted bagels and cheese for breakfast so into town we went. We had to make a stop at Target to buy a new wallet. Before we left our house I did get some very exciting news on our house but was told I have to wait until this week to get the details. On the way to my parents we had to drop off a movie for Alli at Pa's. After getting my parents we had to come back home for Delaney's meds. And we're off!

Friday we did some shopping and drove up the coast and into San Luis Obispo. First stop was the quilt shop in Arroyo Grande, which was a HUGE challenge to get to since they were doing road construction. I did manage to buy the new Irish Quilters Magazine! We hit the outlet mall in Pismo Beach. I scored some great deals at Gymboree and Carter's and my mom found some stuff at the kitchen store. Next stop was the beach. We cruised on up to SLO to use the bathroom at Mc D's. Then it was back to the Creation Station in Buellton. IF you have not stopped by this shop you are missing out! It is nothing like their booth at shows, it is sooo much better. My mom was suprised. I wish it was closer to Stockton. I got some fun stuff. Back to the timeshare we went for swimming, naps and pizza.

Saturday was the Deja Vu Rendezvous Cruise which was the whole purpose of our weekend. Me and Delaney set off at 8:30am to meet up with the Nor-Cal and So-Cal. We cruise all over the area, about 100 miles, all in beautiful weather. We got within a few miles of Santa Barbara. We ended the cruise with pizza and shopping in Solvang.

Sunday was packing and driving home. With another quick stop at the Creation Station for some more fabric I couldn't live without. And mom needing to stop back at the kitchen store in Pismo for a crock pot. With that we were headed home. I made it back to my house by 6pm!

The ending of our vacation is sad, one of the men in our group went out for a drive on Saturday night in his HHR. From what I know he took a curve to fast about 8pm, rolled his car and was ejected. He was medi-flighted to San Barbara with no ID. It took hours for someone to notify his wife at the hotel. He past away on Sunday evening. We were with him, shopping in Solvang, at 5:30pm. I am glad I had the chance to meet him and spend the day visiting. I am so sorry for his wife and family.

Vacation Day 2

I can honestly say this is not my "NORMAL" way of taking a vacation from work. I usually travel somewhere cool to have a real good time. This vacation not so much.

Yesterday was my first official day of vacation. It started off with Delaney having an ear infection. We got an appointment with her ENT. Did the grocery shopping. Then to the ENT appointment, which we found out it was a "really bad" infection. Then to drop off the prescription at WalGreens and to kill an hour at JoAnn's. Back to WalGreens, where after waiting in line at the drive up window the chic who was working the window and I have the following conversation:

Her"the antibiotic will be $95, do you want it?"
Me "How much did my insurance pay?"
Her "Oh, did you want me to check your insurance?"
Me "YEA!"
Her "Well that is going to take a while can you come back in an hour?"
I put the truck in park and turn it off.
Me "NO!"
Her "There is a line and it is going to take awhile."
Me "I already waited my hour, you didn't bother to check my insurance for coverage."

She comes back after a few, very few, minutes and guess what my insurance covers the antibiotic! $20 co-pay, it doesn't come in generic for $5. Home we go.

Day 2 of vacation: I get to go to Tuesday sewing. Debbie teaches me and a few others how to oil and lube our Featherweight machines. I am good to go to sew. I start to sew stars onto my quilt. Working like a dream! Clunk. HUH! I unthread the top and take out my quilt. GREAT! I got thread stuck behind the bobbin housing! Which is lesson 2 on Featherweight care. Delaney fell asleep on the way home so I sewed on a few more stars. Now for this pattern each row you sew on 12 stars, I got 9 sewn on before I ran out of bobbin thread and Delaney woke up. Since I wasn't going to wind my third bobbin of the day I started to paint Americana Ana. She will be ready for show next week I hope! Since I enjoy painting so much, NOT! next was cleaning the bathrooms.

Man what is in store for Day 3!
